"Getting Her Baring"

"Getting Her Baring"

Original painting by Lyla Cravero.

This piece is the first in a new series, "Bare".

Lyla draws inspiration for this series from her large collection of pen and ink figure studies that her mother drew many years ago. These precious sketches are beautifully displayed on the walls of Lyla's vintage farmhouse. In this series Lyla portrays figues using a fauvist abstract style to express the vulnerability that inherently comes when sharing her art with the world...Baring herself.

"An artist feels vulnerable to begin with; and yet the only answer is to recklessly discard more armor."

                                                  ~ Eric Maisel

This piece evokes a sense of shy contentment, a quiet freedom in a new found space.
